In New York, NKF closed NASDAQ, and the Empire State Building glowed orange!
Sidney the Kidney joined National Kidney Foundation staff wearing orange and drinking water.
The Governor of Delaware signed a proclamation pledging to continue to raise awareness and combat kidney disease in the state of Delaware. In California, the LA County Board of Supervisors Commemorated National Kidney Month 2015 and partnered with NKF to present Your Kidneys and You. In Chicago, subway cars and buses promoted #KidneyMonth and kidney health screenings. Numerous other Your Kidneys and You awareness presentations and KEEP Healthy kidney screenings were given around the country. Other major landmarks, including the Superdome in New Orleans and Duke Energy Building in Charlotte were illuminated in orange.
In Florida, a dedication ceremony was held for the Richard K. Salick Post Office, with U. S. Postal Service District Manager, Nancy Rettinhouse; Deborah Mostafavi, Postmaster of the newly named Richard K. Salick Post Office; Representative Bill Posey (FL-8); Phil Salick (Rich’s brother); and Cocoa Beach Mayor Dave Netterstrom. Rich’s family (David, Philip, Michelle) and hundreds of friends and supporters were there to share in this special day.
