Advocacy Update: Support Continues to Build for Immunosuppressive Legislation

Momentum is growing on the Medicare immunosuppressive legislation!  Following the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s hearing on H.R. 1428 in late June, additional Representatives have signed on as cosponsors for a total of almost 80.  Also, in his remarks before the Committee on separate Medicare legislation on July 30, bill sponsor Dr. Michael Burgess (R-TX) thanked his colleagues for working with him on the immunosuppressive extension bill and said it is his desire to “advance this commonsense policy as soon as possible.”  NKF’s government relations office has reached out in the past two weeks to Representatives on the House health committees to build additional support, and we will be meeting with many House and Senate offices during August.
